How to Connect Claude (Anthropic) API key to 1Brain

Run 1Brain on Claude, Anthropic’s AI known for clear, careful writing. An API key is a private password that lets 1Brain use Claude on your behalf, billed to your own Anthropic account. This guide shows you how to create the key in the Claude Console, add billing, connect it to 1Brain, and keep it secure.

1. Open API keys and start a new key

• Sign in to the Claude Console
• Click API keys in the left menu
• Then click + Create key in the top right.

2. Choose an API key:

• If a pop-up about identity federation appears,
• Click Continue with an API key.

3. Fill in the details

• Enter 1Brain as the name
• Choose how long the key lasts under Expires
• Leave the workspace as Default
• And click Create key.

4. Copy and save the key

• Click Copy key and store it in your password manager. You won’t be able to view it again.
• Then click Done.

5. Add billing

• Click Set up billing (or Add credits) and add credits.
• The key won’t work until this is done.

6. Open 1Brain Settings

• In 1Brain, click Settings at the bottom of the left menu.

7. Paste the key into 1Brain

• Go to AI → Language Model
• Find the Anthropic section
• Paste the key into the API Key field
• And click Set as default if you want 1Brain to use it.
